On Huricane Irene- from September 2011

We can harness Her Energies for a while. Build bridges and dams. Tunnel through mountains. Harvest all the Resources from Within.

But we are No master of Her. . .

It was an odd, almost morbid, the thickness of Cleansing that shrouded the air. The Floods. And Winds. I am driving to the lady's house on the only road open today. It is an eleven mile drive from my home, usually.

Road Closed.

The now familiar barricade is up ahead. There are well worn tire tracks along the left side of the sawhorse. I add mine and pull ahead another half mile to the next. Orange cones lay littered among the coils of fallen wire in the road, leaving enough space for a vehicle to pass. I drive over it. There are old, tall trees leaning across the road, held up by

as-yet-unbroken-wires. Houses dark and abandoned.

When we ask Someone

if their house has been restored with Electricity,

We say, "Do you have any Power, yet?"

And when the power is restored,

"we" shout,

"Yeah! Woo-Hoo!! Screw You, Irene!!"

As if we have once again proved our mastery over the elements and "disasters of nature".

You can find there out on the web, many pages and teachers and ideas and philosophies, one to suit every taste on earth, that talk of the Times that we are in in Earth's history, in the history of Humanity as a species. Some talk of Lemuria, some speak of Atlantis. Some preach of Biblical prophesies, of an end of days. Some talk of the Maya calendar and 2012 prophesies.

What I have netted up from all of this through reading, personal interactions and my own inner sense is that: Yes, we are indeed in the beginning of a planetary shift of environment and Human consciousness. We are moving toward being a true Global Society, and this shift is developing, very generally, because of Humankind's degradation of the Planet's Natural Resources.

But, and...

- with this there is also happening a shift in Human consciousness. There is so many spiritual resources available to people in a way as never before. Folks are talking "past lives" and "ghosts" on TV, on the Radio, on the Internet. Teachers are giving packed workshops all year long on "your higher self" and how to "care for your soul". I overhear conversations and a woman says, "People are waking up..."
